I guess I was more curious about your tool chain, and what file format(s) your chosen software needs to work with?Īs mentioned, once of the features I like about RE is the print driver (you can send data to the laser cutter from any application that has a print option). I'm not so much advocating for Windows (or RE for that matter). I'm more happy to support the guys at Cohesion3D and LightBurn. I also did not care for Full Spectrum's practice of forcing a new user of their hardware/software to pay for a "transfer" license for the software. I am not a fan of Windows and prefer Mac OS X and Linux, so I was quick to dump the Windows machine if I could. Jerry, I could not get the old Windows 7 machine that came with the laser cutter to behave. What was missing or made you 'give up' on RE? (just curious is all) without the need to design something intricate in AI or something. especially if you just need a quick 'something' engraved.

Thanks for posting this here Pete! (its Jerry from MMS)ĭoes this install a 'printer driver' like the RE software does? Allowing to print from any software program?
